The Slovak Tatras and the Tatra Electric Railway

What the day looks like

1. 01Leave Zakopane at 8:30, cross the border at Jurgów, stop at the Ždiar Pass viewpoint
2. 02Štrbské Pleso — two hours for a walk along the promenade and the viewpoint
3. 03A ride on the famous Tatra Electric Railway through valleys and spa resorts, about 45 minutes
4. 04Starý Smokovec — a walk and a natural mineral water spring where you can fill a bottle
5. 05Back via Jurgów with a stop at a shepherd's hut, in Zakopane around 17:00
6. 06No hiking trails — just rides and short walks on paved paths
7. 07Ticket 120 PLN, reduced 100 PLN. The Electric Railway costs an extra 20 PLN, reduced 10 PLN
8. 08You'll need an ID card or passport — we cross the border
